This past weekend we celebrated the boys' birthdays with their friends, Gramma and Grandpa, and Auntie Alli. This year a "Villain" (aka Daddy) had threatened to ruin the boys' birthday party and so some of their superhero friends were invited to help save the party.
After a little superhero training (obstacle course), the Villain arrived in costume with water balloon bombs, which the kids had to diffuse, subsequently tried to steal the birthday cake, which the children fought off with silly string, and eventually brought a giant bomb (pinata), which the children bashed so they could enjoy the candy inside. Although most of the older children, including Milo, thought this was fabulous fun, Calder and a few of the other smaller children, were initially horrified. Calder seems to have gotten over this, however, as he's asked whether he can dress up as a villain/robber for next year's party.
